Systematic Sampling

Systematic Sampling is a sampling strategy where participants are selected by taking every Nth person from a list. Let’s say you work at a company with 5,000 employees and you want to conduct a company-wide employee survey. Using Systematic Sampling you could make a list of all employees by arranging all their employee numbers in ascending order. You would then pick a random number, say the 10th name on your list, from which to take every 10th name to participate in your survey. In this case, your sample size will be composed of employee numbers 10, 20, 30, 40, and so on.
