A Psychologist is a professional in psychology (they have a PhD or PsyD) trained to treat people with mental disorders or similar problems, or trained as scientists who research behaviors, emotional patterns, and thought processes of humans and animals. Some people have lovingly referred to psychologists as “head shrinkers” though they also fulfil other roles as teachers, consultants, and scientists in the psychology field.
