DSM-5

DSM-5 stands for the title of the book, Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (Fifth Edition). This book is published by the American Psychiatric Association and is the primary book used in diagnosing psychological problems. You can think of this book as the “guide” for diagnosing psychological disorders used by clinical psychologists, counsellors, and therapists. The DSM-5 has all the definitions of disorders, criteria for diagnosis, etc.
