Chromosomes

The thread-like structures made of DNA molecules that contain the genes. A human cell has twenty-three pairs of chromosomes, one member of each pair coming from each parent. It is these cells that are so important in determining who we are from a genetic standpoint. But don’t forget, our genetic makeup is only one part of the equation. Who we are is a combination of our genetic makeup and our experiences (our environment).
